WDSU’s Puppy with a Purpose gets ready for the Olympics, learns new commands

It’s always a pleasure when WDSU gets to meet up with Brees, our Puppy with a Purpose.

Our 7-month-old service dog in training is back to learning new commands after taking a mini vacation.

This week, he learned how to ‘go in.’

“This will be used to keep him kind of out of the way. If someone is sitting nearby, someone who isn’t paying attention could step on him. So, by having him go in, I keep him out of the way,” said Brees’ trainer, Jessica Hardin.

Bress also learned how to fetch. Hardin says Brees will eventually learn how to fetch important things like a leash, keys, wallet and more.

Hardin also bought Brees some Team USA gear to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics.
