New Orleans carjacking suspect involved in multi-parish chase with NOPD identified

A large police presence shut down the northbound lanes of Williams Boulevard at Driftwood Boulevard in Kenner on Thursday morning after a police chase involving New Orleans police.

NOPD issued a statement, saying around 5:24 a.m. police were notified of an armed carjacking incident that occurred in the 12300 block of South I-10 Service Road.

Police say the suspect, identified as Isadore Foreman, stole the victim’s vehicle at knifepoint and fled the scene.

The vehicle was then seen in the 7800 block of Chef Menteur Highway and fled from police, at which time a pursuit was authorized by rank, according to NOPD.

NOPD said the pursuit moved through New Orleans onto the interstate and west into neighboring Jefferson Parish.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted NOPD in the pursuit, which concluded just before 6 a.m. in the 3700 block of Williams Boulevard in Kenner where the suspect crashed into another vehicle, according to a news release issued by NOPD.

JPSO apprehended Foreman at the scene.

Police say no injuries were reported. Kenner Police Department also assisted in this operation.

Foreman will be booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for armed carjacking and flight from an officer, and also faces charges in Jefferson Parish regarding this incident.
