STEM NOLA is inviting students to explore science and engineering through hands-on learning at Rocket Day, a free event for K–12 students hosted at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
Participants will build, test, and launch their own model rockets while learning about aerodynamics, propulsion and other core STEM concepts. The event offers an interactive environment where students can engage with professionals and learn through fun, practical experiences.
Highlights of the event include rocket construction and launch demonstrations, hands-on science activities, and opportunities for mentorship from STEM experts.
The event is open to all K–12 students, regardless of prior experience. Space is limited, and families are encouraged to register early at registration.stemnola.com.
Volunteers — including STEM professionals and college students — are also needed. Undergraduate student volunteers will receive a $50 stipend. Sign up at stemnola.galaxydigital.com.
Rocket Day will be held at the UNO Lakefront Arena, 6801 Franklin Avenue in New Orleans, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 12.
