Tropical Storm Chantal continues off the southeast U.S. coast and has strengthened. As of 1pm, the storm has winds at 50 mph, and it is drifting slowly to the N/NW at 8 mph.
What we know:
- Rainfall accumulations of 2-4in with locally higher amounts of up to 6in are possible along the coastal sections of the Carolinas through Monday.
- Tropical storm conditions are expected from South Santee River, South Carolina to Surf City, North Carolina.
