The New Orleans Pelicans have added Georgetown University guard Micah Peavy with the 40th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
This selection came to New Orleans from the Washington Wizards via the CJ McCollum, Jordan Poole trade earlier this week.
Peavy, 6-7, 215, spent last season at Georgetown University where he was named to the 2024-25 All-BIG EAST First Team. Peavy started all 32 games he appeared in for Hoyas, averaging 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals in 37.0 minutes per game.
Prior to transferring to Georgetown, Peavy played three seasons for Texas Christian University (2021-24) and one season for Texas Tech University (2020-21).
Over his five-year collegiate career, Peavy appeared in 159 games (108 starts), averaging 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals in 25.9 minutes per game.
