Cooler Weather Ahead as Cold Fronts Move Through
A series of cold fronts will move across the Deep South over the next seven days, bringing drier air and a noticeable fall chill by the weekend!
The first front arrives tonight, followed by slightly cooler, drier conditions late in the week. Temperatures will remain a little above average Thursday and Friday, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Overnight lows will fall into the low 50s on the Northshore and the upper 50s to near 60 on the South Shore.
Cloud cover could be tricky to predict this weekend. Clouds may increase Friday, along with a slim chance of a coastal shower.
A stronger cold front arrives Saturday. While it won’t bring a drastic cooldown, temperatures will fall below average over the weekend and into early next week. Expect cool to chilly mornings and mild afternoons from Saturday through Tuesday.
Saturday’s weather looks great for Beignet Fest with highs in the 70s and lots of sunshine. Po-Boy Fest will be cooler on Sunday, with highs in the upper 60s and a 20% chance of showers. Most of the weekend should stay dry.
Sunday and Monday look to bring the coldest mornings, with temperatures possibly dipping into the upper 30s-low 40s in some inland locations.
