New Orleans police arrest a suspect wanted for a deadly shooting in Algiers.
Tyree Jones was arrested early Tuesday morning on Lapalco Boulevard.
He’s accused of shooting and killing a 23-year-old woman near the intersection of Tall Timbers Drive and Peach Tree Court on Sunday evening.
The NOPD previously said the woman was driving when her car stopped in the street. That’s when a man walked up and shot her. Officials say bystanders tried to help before paramedics arrived, but the woman died at the scene.
Her identity has not been released.
