Those who ran a campaign include incumbent Tyrin Truong, Democrat Wendy Williams Dupont, Republican Lori Simpson-Taylor, and “No Party” candidate Michael Corey O’Ree.
Truong is currently facing criminal charges after he was indicted and accused of malfeasance in office, public intimidation, and theft.
Truong is accused of intentionally performing his duties as mayor in an unlawful manner, and permitting other employees to do the same, according to the indictment.
His arraignment is scheduled just days after the Nov. 3 election.
This comes as Bogalusa has struggled with finances. The state put in place a fiscal administrator in 2025.
If no one candidate secures 50% of the vote, a runoff will be on the December ballot.
