Camelot Nation and the Krewe of King Arthur have announced that they are awarding $20,000 to two high school marching bands to help fund the purchase of musical instruments and uniforms.
The Pride of Destrehan, Destrehan High School Band, has been awarded $10,000. The second recipient, described by the Krewe as a local New Orleans school, will be announced in a special presentation.
Camelot Nation says their marching bands fill the streets with music, energy, and excitement. For young musicians, Carnival is more than a performance — it’s an opportunity to showcase their talents, represent their schools, and participate in a tradition that brings communities together.
Guided by its mission to “Parade with a Purpose,” Camelot Nation is committed to making a positive impact beyond the parade route. Through fundraising, charitable giving, and community partnerships, the foundation supports initiatives that encourage diversity, inclusivity, and creative expression throughout the Greater New Orleans area.
Both recipient bands participate in the Krewe of King Arthur’s annual Mardi Gras parade.
