Break out the sweaters and a good book this Saturday as Nolapapa is putting on a free book fair.
The event is in partnership with Ruby Slipper Mid-City, Rouses, and Ochsner as the groups aim to give away $1,000 in books and educational materials from Highlights.
Families will be able to participate in a pumpkin patch, costume contest and a special story time with local author and artist Shannon Kelley Atwater.
She is behind books like Fais Do Do and Goodnight Pothole.
The Nolapapa Free Festival Finale book fair is Saturday, October 17th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Ruby Slipper Mid-City, 315 S. Broad St.
Storytime is set for 2 p.m.
