Plaquemines Parish leaders have issued a voluntary evacuation for the Tidewater Road area in Venice.
This comes ahead of coastal surge concerns from Hurricane Isaias.
The voluntary evacuation takes effect Thursday, starting at 4 p.m.
This voluntary evacuation is being issued due to the potential for three-to-five-foot storm surge associated with Hurricane Isaias, which may impact travel and roadway conditions in the area beginning overnight Thursday and continuing into Friday.
Businesses in the affected area are encouraged to take precautions and monitor local emergency management updates.
Please remain alert and follow all instructions from local emergency officials.”
