The WDSU First Warning Weather Team is tracking Tropical Depression Nine, which is showing signs of organization in the southwestern Gulf, and a tropical depression is expected to form within the next day or so.

Here’s how to clean your catch basin to prevent flooding ahead of a storm:
- Remove debris from gutters and downspouts.
- Clear debris from catch basins. Report clogged catch basins to 311 or visit the SWBNO Storm Water website.
- Prune trees and shrubs.
- Bring outdoor furniture and decorations inside.
- Secure or bring garbage bins inside.
- Move possessions to your highest floor.
- Photograph your property for insurance purposes.
According to the Sewerage and Water Board, in 2026 they have cleaned 2,506 catch basins, cleared 13.1 miles of drainage lines, and removed 3,445,479 pounds of debris.
