Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has released new information on the death of Ken Urker, Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s partner and father of her child.
Deputies say on Oct. 1, around 6:18 p.m., they were dispatched to a welfare concern in reference to Urker at a home in Raceland.
According to deputies, the welfare concern was due to Urker not answering his phone or the door to his residence.
Anita Blanchard and Dylan Blanchard also told deputies that Urker was at church with them on Wednesday, and they stated Urker made comments about being depressed and upset.
They also told deputies he was on TikTok Live around 11 p.m., driving without saying anything.
Due to his behavior on Wednesday and him not showing up for work, they decided to do check on him and the time of contacting LPSO.
Before deputies arrived, Anita Blanchard, Dylan Blanchard, and Justin Daigle were able to gain access to the home through a bedroom window that was unlocked, and they were able to see Urker lying on his bed unconscious.
Once they realized he was not answering, they made entry through the window and located Urker on the bed and stated he was cold to the touch and not breathing.
When deputies arrived, they say they were able to see Urker from the living room area lying on his back in the bed.
Deputies say they located drug paraphernalia, including syringes and a spoon in the bathroom next to a brown powdery substance.
They say they also located a syringe and a handgun on the nightstand next to the bed and Urker was cold to the touch and appeared to have been there for an extended period of time.
His face and arms were blue, and a paper towel was placed on his left arm with what appeared to be blotches of blood on the paper towel, according to deputies.
His cause of death has not been confirmed.
This is an ongoing investigation.
