Angel Reese has won a prestigious award during her first year with the Atlanta Dream. The same week she helped the Dream advance to the WNBA Semifinals, the double-double queen has been named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.
This is Reese’s first time earning the honor. She is the first player from the Dream to hold the award.
LSU Women’s Basketball posted a video of her mom surprising her with the trophy.
Reese joins LSU legend Sylvia Fowles as the second Tiger to win Defensive Player of the Year. Fowles has won the award four times in her professional career.
