The National Hurricane Center has issued it’s last advisory on Fay because it is now a post-tropical cyclone, meaning it has lost it’s tropical characteristics.
However, Tropical Storm Hanna continues in the north Atlantic.
In addition, some long-range development is still possible in the Bay of Campeche.
Tropical Storm Hanna:
Tropical Storm Hanna has sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving southeast at about 12 mph.
Hanna should slow down before turning east-northeast. Weakening is expected as dry air and strong upper-level winds will limit the storm.
Hanna is forecast to become a remnant low Thursday and dissipate by late Friday. No immediate Louisiana impacts are expected.
Bay of Campeche Also Being Watched
Farther west, the Climate Prediction Center’s Global Tropics Outlook highlights a low chance of tropical development near the Bay of Campeche and the Yucatán Peninsula.
That area may become one to watch next week. While the development potential currently appears low, residents and visitors along the western Gulf Coast and around the Yucatán Peninsula should continue checking forecasts for updates.
Forecast confidence can change as weather systems evolve, and any potential development in the Bay of Campeche remains uncertain at this stage.
