The first day of Fall will still feel like Summer in New Orleans.
Tuesday brings plenty of sunshine, with a high near 92 degrees.
A few afternoon storms could pop up across the region, but most places will stay dry. Any stronger storm could bring heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low near 78 degrees in New Orleans.
Wednesday stays hot and mostly dry, with a high near 93 degrees. Less muggy air begins moving in Wednesday night into Thursday.
That drier air will help bring cooler mornings Thursday and Friday. Areas north of the lake could wake up to temperatures in the 60s. New Orleans and coastal areas will stay warmer.
Afternoons will remain warm, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s later this week.
The weekend looks mostly dry. Humidity will slowly return as winds shift.
