A four-year-old girl was found dead at a Washington Parish home on Friday, according to Washington Parish Sheriff Jason Smith.
Smith says around 11 a.m., they received a 911 call from a parent reporting that their child would not wake up.
When deputies arrived at the home on Clyde Smith Road, they found a four-year-old girl dead.
Detectives responded and are working the scene.
The coroner’s office has taken custody of the body and will determine the cause of death.
Smith says that until the cause of death is determined, he will not speculate about what happened and is asking others not to as well.
