The New Orleans Saints end the 2026 preseason with a much needed 27-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys inside of AT&T Stadium Friday night.
Kicker Daniel Carlson connected on a 53-yard field goal with 1:55 left in the game to make it 27-24 Saints.
It was the first preseason win for Saints head coach Kellen Moore.
The last time the Saints won a preseason game was against the Arizona Cardinals back on Aug. 10, 2024.
Spencer Rattler got the start at quarterback, leading the offense to three scoring drives in the first half.
The first points for the Black and Gold came on a 38-yard field goal by Carlson on the opening drive to make it 3-0.
The Saints would get a touchdown on their second possession when rookie receiver Barion Brown took a jet sweep into the end zone for an eight-yard score.
The Saints led 10-3 after the Brown touchdown.
New Orleans would add another touchdown just before the half.
Rattler would keep the ball and run around the right edge for an eight-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 17-6.
The Saints led 17-9 at the half.
Rattler would finish the game 8/10 for 79 yards, plus 9 rushing yards and 1 touchdown.
The Saints rushing attack continues punishing the Cowboys defense on the ground on their first possession of the third quarter.
Newly acquired running back Zamir White find the end zone on an 11 yard touchdown run, giving the Saints the 24-9 lead.
The Saints ground game finished with 169 yards on 32 carries.
Just like the Jaguars preseason game, the Saints blow the lead in the second half.
Cowboys quarterback Sam Howell throws a couple touchdown passes and converts a two-point conversion to tie the game 24-24.
Quarterback Zach Wilson led a 7-play, 47 yard drive to set up Carlson for the 53-yard field goal.
The Saints will open the regular season Sept. 13 at Detroit.
