Heads up! Tomorrow is a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day for the potential of a few thunderstorms, isolated strong to severe storm. Rain coverage will not be as widespread as Monday.
The Storm Prediction Center currently does not expect us to see any severe weather on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, I wouldn’t rule out a few storms with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and localized heavy rain.
The chance for afternoon showers will increase by Thursday and Friday, the storms could possibly be strong as well. Afternoon highs will return to more seasonal levels by Thursday and Friday.
In the tropics, we are watching two tropical waves. One is moving north in the general direction of Bermuda, and that one will be no threat to us. There is another wave coming off the coast of Africa today that has a 50% chance of development by later on this week. Other than that, the tropics are quiet.
