The New Orleans Saints held a walk-through practice at Oaks Christian School in Thousand Oaks Wednesday afternoon and both running back Alvin Kamara and cornerback Quincy Riley weren’t there.
Kamara and Riley each suffered an injury during Tuesday’s joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys.
Kamara hurt his knee while Riley suffered a groin injury.
Saints head coach Kellen Moore said both guys would be out a few weeks.
When asked if either of those guys injuries could linger into week one, Moore said , “I don’t know, we’ll see.”
This means running backs Kendre Miller and Devin Neal, who were out for a while during training camp each dealing with an injury, will have bigger workloads.
They will help back up star running back Travis Etienne.
Miller and Neal were back for the joint practice against the Cowboys and had some impressive runs.
As for cornerback, Martin Emerson Jr. could be the guy to get a big share of the workload opposite of Kool-Aid McKinstry.
Emerson Jr. has been having a strong training camp over the last week.
The Saints and Rams will hold a joint practice Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in Woodland Hills.
