The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office wants drivers to be aware of a traffic closure in Arabi on Monday.
Judge Perez Drive at the railroad crossing at Alexander and Aycock Streets will be fully closed for 24 hours starting on Monday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m.
This closure is due to Norfolk Southern Railroad repairing a rail defect.
St. Bernard Highway (LA 46) and Patricia Street are alternate routes to cross the tracks, but both will likely see heavy congestion.
The sheriff’s office says if you are entering or leaving the parish during this time, remember Paris Road (LA 47) is an alternative route.
