INVEST 92L IN THE CENTRAL TROPICAL ATLANTIC:
The chances for Invest 92L to development are becoming less and less. The tropical wave is about 400 miles east of the Windward Islands. This system is expected to move into a region of strong upper-level winds and dry air, and the development chances appear to be decreasing. Interests in the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system as gusty winds and areas of heavy rain are possible Friday night and Saturday, regardless of development.
WHAT WE KNOW:
- Development chances over 1-2 days: Low, 20%.
- Development chances over 3-7 days: Medium, 20%.
- No threat to southeast Louisiana or south Mississippi over the next 7 days.
EASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC:
A tropical wave located 1,000 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands, is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development is possible and conditions are favorable for a tropical depression to form this weekend or early next week. This wave is expected to move westward or west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic.
WHAT WE KNOW:
- Development chances over 1-2 days: Low, 30%.
- Development chances over 3-7 days: Medium, 50%.
- No threat to southeast Louisiana or south Mississippi over the next 7 days.
