The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old-boy in Hahnville.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Smith Street.
According to the sheriff’s office, when deputies arrived, they found the boy with a gunshot wound.
The boy was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
A 16-year-old has been taken into custody. He is facing charges of second-degree homicide, obstruction of justice, and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile
