The New Orleans Fire Department is investigating a house fire, displacing 5 residents.
Officials said this happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at a 4-unit home on Lonely Oak Drive.
According to a person living in the unit, the fire started after someone dumped an ash tray with a lit cigarette butt in the trash.
Everyone inside of the complex made it out safely and no injuries were reported.
