Xavier University in New Orleans was named one of the top HBCUs in the country by Forbes.
The business magazine ranked the top 10 public and private HBCUs after the colleges have seen a resurgence in enrollment post-2020.
Xavier is the country’s only historically Catholic HBCU. It placed fourth for private colleges.
Forbes noted Xavier’s reputation for producing Black students with STEM degrees and sending students to medical school. The university was the only Louisiana HBCU to make the list. To see the full list, click here.
