Three people have been arrested in connection with a shooting and carjacking over the weekend in Terrebonne Parish.
The arrests come after the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating several violent incidents that happened on Sunday at a trailer park in Gray.
According to the sheriff, those arrested include William Lamar Jones, 19, of Lake Providence, William Jennings, 28, of Lake Providence, and Kalaye Woods, 17, of Gray.
The shooting began when a victim was shot at Al’s Trailer Court in Houma.
According to the sheriff, while deputies responded to that shooting, they received a call about another shooting near the trailer park.
In that shooting, a man was approached by the suspects who demanded his keys. He was shot and the suspects are accused of taking his phone and car, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives with Terrebonne Parish and the Houma Police Department later located the stolen car near Prospect Boulevard, which led to a car pursuit.
The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed the stolen car, and two suspects, Jones and Jennings, were taken into custody.
Woods was connected to the first shooting at the trailer park and was taken into custody at a home in Thibodaux.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspects are also believed to be connected to an armed robbery the day before the two shootings at the trailer park.
Jones was arrested and is facing charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, as well as carjacking, armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated flight from an officer and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He is in custody at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $1.75 million bond.
Jennings is being held in Lafourche Parish. When he is released, he will be booked on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, carjacking and armed robbery with a firearm.
Woods is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm. She is in custody at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $1.5 million bond.
The investigation remains active, but the sheriff’s office believes all involved in the incidents have been arrested.
Authorities said additional charges are possible.
