New Orleans police are investigating a shooting in Central City that left one dead.
Officers say this happened around 9:58 P.M. at the intersection of Sixth and Freret Streets.
NOPD says they received calls about a man shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the body.
EMS arrived to treat the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators are gathering information and evidence to identify the person(s) responsible for the incident, as well as a motive.
No arrests have been made at this time. No additional details are currently available.
