A hot day one of training camp with the New Orleans Saints on the field for 77 minutes. Unfortunately, the Saints already suffering an injury.
Defensive tackle Bryan Bresee suffering a serious knee injury that could sideline him for the entire season.
Another storyline that we’ve been following, receiver Chris Olave trying to get his contract extension done.
He only participated in individual drills, head coach Kellen Moore saying that is a business decision.
With that being said, rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson was a full participant in practice.
Also a full participant, running back Alvin Kamara, who’s entering his 10th year.
He talked to the media for almost 20 minutes Wednesday.
Kamara was very open and insightful, talking about his time on Terron Armstead’s podcast, which had to do about the narrative that the 31-year-old running back might not have any tread left on the tires.
So, does he have a chip on his shoulder, motivated or maybe a little ticked off?
“I’m motivated every year, you know I’m saying a chip? No. Pissed? Maybe, but definitely motivated no chip on my shoulder. I’ve been doing this ten years, I feel good about it,” Kamara said.
Kamara says he loves the franchise and the city and expresses it a lot while talking to the local media.
“I ain’t gonna lie. I don’t think I’ve ever had like, a one-on-one with Mickey (Loomis) where I’m like, I want to be in New Orleans so much, but I think they understand and they know that, you know, I’ve never been like, sat up there with Sean (Payton) and been like, I’m going get New Orleans tattooed on my chest. I think y’all known me long enough. Like, this is where I am. I’ve done a lot here.”
Kamara has high praise for both Tyler Shough and Moore.
He feels like the buy in is real as the Saints enter the second year with the quarterback and head coach combination.
