Monday and Tuesday afternoon, the heat index will likely feel close to 110, and people should avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
In addition to that, the National Weather Service has also issued an extreme heat watch that will be in effect on Tuesday from 11 AM until 8 PM. In these locations, the heat may be dangerous, with the heat index approaching 115. This watch includes the North Shore as well as the metro.
Tuesday afternoon in these locations, any outdoor activity in the afternoon should be very limited, and confined to very short periods of time. Direct sunlight should also be avoided, and constant hydration is also recommended.
The ridge of high pressure helping to bring us the heat through midweek should begin to break down by the end of the week, bringing slightly cooler afternoons.
