InspireNOLA held its 10th annual school fest this afternoon at Xavier University, distributing 4,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to pre-registered students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
Organizers said the event now provides more than 45,000 backpacks to families across the Greater New Orleans area.
“It’s very important to us at Zulu, it’s real important for us,” said one participant.
Leaders with InspireNOLA said the goal of the event is to help students start the school year prepared while easing the financial burden on families.
