U.S. Marshals and St. Tammany deputies arrest New Orleans murder suspect near Slidell

U.S. Marshals and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a New Orleans man wanted on a murder charge near Slidell Thursday morning.

According to STPSO, 21-year-old Dennis Stewart was wanted on a second-degree murder charge in New Orleans.

According to the NOPD, Stewart is accused in a deadly shooting on July 8 in Plum Orchard.

Montrell Robbins, 42, was identified as the victim in the shooting.

Stewart was found at a home in the Huntwyck neighborhood of Slidell and arrested.

He is currently in custody in the St. Tammany Parish Jail awaiting extradition to New Orleans.
