Former Jefferson Parish teacher pleads guilty to sex charges with minors

A former East Jefferson High School teacher has been sentenced after pleading guilty to indecent behavior with a minor.

Blake Hazeltine pleaded guilty to felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile, according to court records.

Records show the crimes happened between 2024 and 2025.

A judge sentenced Hazeltine to 17 years of hard labor, five years of probation and community service.

Hazeltine could face prison time if he violates the terms of his probation.
