The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a murder after a woman was found unresponsive in the St. Roch area.
Police say around 11:22 a.m., New Orleans EMS responded to a medical call in the 2000 block of Franklin Avenue.
The victim, an unidentified woman, was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an initial investigation, the case was reclassified from an unclassified death to a homicide at approximately 5:22 p.m.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and determine the official cause of death after notifying family members and completing an autopsy.
