WHAT WERE TRACKING:
A level 1 marginal risk of severe weather has been issued for all of the Northshore, metro New Orleans, the River Parishes and portions of the Bayou Parishes.
WHAT DOES A LEVEL 1 MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER MEAN?
This means that isolated severe storms are possible.
WHAT ARE THE STORM THREATS?
The main threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain that could lead to flooding. We could also see a good amount of lightning, so use caution if you work outdoors or are doing anything outside.
WHAT IS THE TIMING OF POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER?
- After 9 a.m. Lower Plaquemines
- Around noon St. Bernard
- Throughout the afternoon—scattered for the Southshore
- Evening: spotty on the Northshore
- 10 pm: done
