The New Orleans Police Department is continuing to investigate a shooting that happened near the Crescent City Connection Saturday evening.
According to the NOPD, a woman was shot near the Tchoupitoulas exit around 6 p.m.
The woman had a child inside the car at the time of the shooting, according to the NOPD.
A female victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries.
The NOPD said the woman is still alive, and no arrests have been made at this time. It is unclear if the shooting was targeted or random, according to the NOPD.
Traffic going into New Orleans was bumper-to-bumper for hours after the bridge was closed due to the investigation.
