What is a Central American Gyre?
A Central American Gyre, is a large cyclonic seasonal circulation that occurs over Central America during May-November. Sometimes these gyre’s can spin off closed circulations over the water and develop into tropical systems.
What are the impacts to southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi?
Some models show this system moving into the Gulf by next weekend. It’s too early to determine if or any impacts will occur locally.
