Today is a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day due to another round of heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding.
There is also a coastal flood advisory in effect through Friday.
Eastern facing shores could see water rise 1-2 feet during high tide and gusts up to 35 mph.
The first half of the day is expected to stay mostly dry with the exception of a few passing showers near the coast.
Once we hit 1 p.m., showers and storms are expected to arrive. These could contain heavy downpours that could lead to flash flooding. Storms not expected to come to an end until around 9 p.m.
Highs only reach the low 80s. The average for this time of the year is 89.
Lows tonight fall back to the 70s.
A slight reduction in rain chances are possible tomorrow as drier air moves in, but this won’t last long. An increase in rain chances is expected Friday and Saturday as moisture from the Gulf moves north to our area. Nothing is expected to develop, just heavy rain.
We are looking at temperatures to rebound to near average early next week.
