Two people in Pearl River have been arrested after a tip led deputies to a residence in Pearl River, where they discovered illegal drugs, 9 dogs, 5 cats, and two children.
Kassie Kandice King, 32, and Jeanluc Maser Saucier,31, were arrested and charged with cruelty to juveniles, animal cruelty, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I CDS marijuana, and illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a minor.
Deputies in St. Tammany responded to a residence on May 19 in the 64000 block of Highway 3081 after they received an anonymous tip about drug activity and sales.
According to deputies, they located and seized marijuana intended for distribution, as well as 9 dogs and 5 cats, which they said appeared to be neglected, and two small children living in conditions unfit for them.
The Department of Children and Family Services was called to remove the children from the home. The St. Tammany Parish Animal Control was also called to remove the dogs and cats.
