A leadership shakeup is happening within the Regional Transit Authority as their board of commissioners accepted Lona Edwards Hankins’ resignation as CEO today.
We first told you about a transition earlier this month after the board passed a resolution invalidating a previously amended contract for Hankins. Hankins’ departure ends a three-year tenure with the RTA.
The board appointed Ronald Baptiste, the agency’s procurement director, to serve as interim CEO. New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno commented on the transition today and said she knows the agency will continue serving riders while they look for a permanent leader.
