Republican candidates Joseph Cao, Michael Hollis and Ellie Schroder are attended the WDSU Hot Seat debate.
The 3 are vying to get the GOP nomination from voters for a seat on the Louisiana Board of Elementary & Secondary Education.
The seat was vacated when Paul Hollis left to leas the U.S. Mint as an appointee by President Donald Trump.
A Democrat is also qualified to run and will be on the ballot in November for the general election.
