As gas prices and other bills increase, we learned that crawfish prices are also increasing.
The Crawfish App shows most vendors are increasing the prices by $0.50 ahead of Mother’s Day weekend.
According to The Crawfish App, which tracks real-time pricing from more than 1,000 businesses, current pricing reflects a market balancing strong seasonal demand with inconsistent supply conditions.
This increase is not only from the strong demand this week, but also a continuation of larger crawfish burrowing earlier than usual, and basin crawfish haven’t come in as expected.
According to The Crawfish App, you can expect to pay approximately $3.14 per pound for live crawfish and $5.52 per pound for boiled crawfish this weekend. You might be able to find cheaper prices at your local market.
