Another restaurant in the New Orleans Central Business District is shutting down.
Leni’s, a CBD restaurant that has been in business for 50 years, will close its doors on May 29.
The restaurant shared the news on its Facebook page, explaining that the owners have decided to retire.
“We thank the community for their loyalty and support,” the announcement said.
This announcement comes after two restaurants specializing in Spanish cuisine closed Tuesday following their service on Cinco de Mayo.
It comes after a challenging year for some families who were separated in historic deportations, during a massive crackdown on illegal immigration.
This is also part of a growing trend in New Orleans where restaurants struggle ahead of slower summer months.
