Heating up as we head into Jazz Fest Weekend! Today will be another warm day as highs reach 80-84 degrees.
A spotty shower or two possible Thursday and Friday, but most areas may end up staying on the drier side until Saturday.
Tricky setup by late Friday night-Saturday across south Louisiana and south Mississippi. Storm Prediction Center has placed a Marginal Risk(Level 1 out of 5) for severe storms.
Lots of question marks remain with this forecast.
Potential for numerous showers and storms, few strong to severe storms across the ArkLaTex during the day Friday. As these complexes of storms develop, they will drift southeast late Friday-Friday night.
Some models FIZZLE the storms before ever reaching the coast. That would mean NO rain for outdoor plans.
Other models do NOT fizzle the storms and bring a few strong storms by late Friday evening/night into Saturday morning.
In addition, a new round of storms storms could develop with daytime heating during the day Saturday afternoon. Right now, I’m leaning towards some of the storm action reaching southeast LA/S Mississippi by early Saturday morning.
After that, the headline turns to the upper 80s to potentially 90 degree temperatures in our forecast next week.
