The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority–East announced its traffic and safety plan along Lakeshore Drive for Easter Sunday.
The plan addresses increased traffic around the lakefront, where large crowds have historically caused traffic congestion.
Below is everything you need to know about resources in place and some road closures:
• Personnel will be stationed along the corridor to monitor conditions and respond as needed.
• Parking restrictions will be enforced to support traffic flow and ensure emergency access.
• Temporary traffic controls, including barricades, traffic redirection, and potential road closures, will be in effect from West End to the Seabrook area throughout the day.
Some key intersections that may be temporarily affected include:
• West End Blvd & Lakeshore Drive
• Canal Blvd from Allen Toussaint to Lakeshore Drive
• Rail Street & Lakeshore Drive
• Elysian Fields & Lakeshore Drive
• Franklin Avenue & Lakeshore Drive
• Leroy Johnson & Lakeshore Drive
