A man who has been arrested multiple times in a scheme involving human trafficking and diaper changes has had his bond revoked in a Jefferson Parish case.
According to online court records, after Rutledge Deas IV, 35, was arrested in connection with a Lafayette human trafficking case, his bond in a separate case in Jefferson Parish was revoked.
According to court records, Deas is accused of human trafficking by faking a disability for nannies to change his diapers between June 2025 and October 2025.
Records show Deas failed to consistently check in with his probation officer since the court received his case in January 2024.
The judge ordered Deas to nine years in prison.
Earlier reports:
Deas is accused of connecting with a nanny online in Lafayette and portraying himself as someone who needed help with diaper changes, according to state police.
Deas was arrested and charged with human tracking.
This is not the first time Deas has been arrested and charged in diaper-changing schemes.
Deas had previously been arrested on the same charge in November 2019 and December 2021 in similar cases.
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional victims are possible.
The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit works to rescue victims and pursue justice in cases involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of individuals for sex or labor. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim of Deas is asked to call detectives at 504-310-7012.
