The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened on Interstate 10 West just before the Franklin Avenue Exit on Saturday night.
Police say a 35-year-old woman died in the crash.
According to investigators, a motorcyclist, the driver of a Kia and the driver of a Chevy pickup truck were traveling westbound on I-10 when the motorcyclist slowed down due to traffic.
The motorcyclist was then struck from behind by the driver of the Kia, who was then hit from behind by the driver of the Chevy.
The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The Chevy driver and his passengers remained at the scene and refused EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and will release the identity of the victim once the family has been notified.
