New Orleans teens receive free prom dresses and mentorship

The Golden Fi-yah prom dress giveaway in New Orleans offered young women the chance to choose free prom gowns in a boutique-style setting.

The event also focused on mentorship opportunities and information about college scholarships.

Organizers said the goal was to empower young women.
