New Orleans teens have the opportunity to earn extra cash over the summer by applying to jobs within the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission.
NORD has hundreds of summer jobs available, from lifeguarding to camp counselors.
According to the aquatics director, NORD is seeking to hire 150 lifeguards in order to open all 17 community pools for the summer.
Those interested in becoming a lifeguard need to know the following:
- $17.58 per hour pay
- Must be 15 years old or older to apply, must know how to swim
- Part-time and full-time schedules available
- NORD pays for Red Cross lifeguard certification
- All applicants must bring: government-issued picture identification, Social Security card, original birth certificate, signed work permit
Those interested can get more information and apply at the NORD summer hiring eventon March 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Milne Recreation Center.
