Festivities are underway in Rivertown as the queens and kings of Zulu and Argus, along with their courts, gather for the annual Meeting of the Courts.
The annual celebration between the krewes is a 25-year tradition.
Each royal was introduced, shared a few words, and exchanged gifts, symbolizing unity not only between the two krewes but also between Orleans and Jefferson parishes.
This year is particularly special because King Zulu, Dr. Ronald Tassin, is a Kenner native.
“Life is amazing, dreams do come true,” Tassin said.
The celebrations continue throughout the day with families enjoying food, live musical performances, local craft vendors, and the Krewe du Kenner wagon float parade, where participants will parade down the street alongside Zulu and Argus.
