The Louisiana Attorney General’s Office has arrested a St. James Parish deputy accused of internet crimes against children.
Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested Tykeim A. Simoneaux, 23, of N. Pine Street in Gramercy.
He is facing the following charges:
- Indecent behavior with a juvenile
- Computer-aided solicitation of a minor
- Malfeasance in office; tampering with evidence
- Obstruction of justice
Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to Murrill’s office, Simoneaux was soliciting juveniles for images and videos of themselves committing a lewd and lascivious or sex act in exchange for money.
This is an ongoing investigation, and it is expected that there are possibly multiple victims both in Louisiana and other states.
Simoneaux was arrested at the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the St. James Parish Jail.
“I’d like to thank Sheriff Claude J. Louis Jr. for his swift assistance in this joint investigation. Last night’s arrest is not a reflection of the hardworking men and women of law enforcement, but a testament to the fact that no matter who you are, if you are involved in child sexual abuse material, you will face the full force of Louisiana justice,” Attorney General Liz Murrill said in an issued statement.
“The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office holds its employees to the highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty. The actions of Tykeim Simoneaux do not define the others who wear the uniform. Simoneaux began his employment with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office on November 3, 2025. His employment was terminated today. I thank the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General and the ICAC Task Force for allowing us to assist in this investigation. Protecting our children is a priority of the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office, and no one is above the law,” said Sheriff Claude J. Louis Jr.
Simoneaux was officially terminated Wednesday.
